If you are looking for something unorthodox without a long-haulf flight, something with a twist of true Orient and you have alrady been to Dubai then we recommend to head for a long weekend to one of the new boutique hotels in the center of Doha, Qatar. The location of the hotel allows for a rich program variability and is also a good tip when combining travel to other Gulf destinations.
Al Mirqab Boutique Hotel opened in autumn 2012. Located right in the historic heart of Doha on the edge of the souk, Al Mirqab Boutique Hotel is part of a project to revitalize old dilapidated buildings into a new luxury stylish hotel. Al Mirqab is the largest of them, a lively hotel that is the only one to have a 15-meter swimming pool with a second-floor terrace, heated in winter, cooled in summer and open 24 hours. Access to the pool is from all rooms. The hotel has a nice veranda with live music in the evenings, as well as a large auditorium for family celebrations. If you are looking for tranquility, you should consider giving preference to one of the other hotels in the same neighborhood, such as Al Bidda, Al Yomrok, Al Jasra, Arumaila, Musheirib and Al Najada.

It's been only a few hours since our arrival from Qatar and the UAE. I would like to thank you on behalf of our family for the exquisite level of service. Everything was perfectly organised and prepared. We didn't encounter a single issue. The Banana Island Resort was flawless and its services were on really high level - I would give it 6 stars if I could. We felt really good there and now we regret that we didn't prolong our staythere. The resort was beautiful and so kid friendly! Thank you so much for the resort recommendation and organisation of our vacation!! To be absolutely honest there was only one slight disapointment and that was our hotel in Ajman (UAE). Comparing it to the Banana Island we felt the employees' approach was not that good but that's not your fault. It iritated us when they would try to make up ou beds at 7 o'clock in the morning etc. For that reason we wouldn't stay there again. Last but not least my wife was very touched by the flowers and welcome message you prepared upon our arrival to Dubai. Overall the vacation was great and despite the negatives in Fairmont Hotel we are taking away only memories.
In future we will be glad to use your services again.

Al Mirqab is located in the historical part of the old Doha right next to a famous souk. It takes about 30 minutes by car to reach the hotel from Doha's International Airport.

The room is designed in a traditional Arabic style and offers access to hotel's pool. High-speed Wi-Fi is free and guests have free access to the gym as well. It is possible to accommodate two adults and one child under 11 years, ev. even baby up to 2 years on sofa. Any extra bed for a child is charged, baby under three years will be provided a free cot. Larger room type can be arranged for three adults and larger families.

Breakfast is served buffet style in the main restaurant Al Mahtam, half or full board is served in the restaurant Al Terrace, La Piazza or Argan, which are part of the same hotel collection. The hotel does not serve alcohol.
